The Mining and Quarrying Occupational Health and Safety Committee (MAQOHSC) is a tripartite body established under the SA Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act, 1986.

MAQOHSC's mandate is to promote occupational health and safety, and prevent injury and disease in the mining and quarrying industry.

MAQOHSC provides funding through a grants scheme and undertakes initiatives directed at improving occupational health and safety and eliminating silicosis in mines and quarries.

The Mining and Quarrying Industries Fund was originally set up in 1941 under the Workers Compensation (Silicosis) Scheme. Interest from this is available to MAQOHSC to finance initiatives.

The Committee is, in the performance of its functions, subject to the control and direction of the Minister for Industrial Relations.
